Palouse Falls Washington - Memorial Weekend

Over Memorial Weekend we visited Palouse Falls in Washington. It is a 187 foot waterfall and it was so beautiful. We wished we could have gone to the bottom of the falls but the hikes down were so steep and impossible with the children. We did get to hike on top of the falls which was also quite scary with kids because their was no fencing on the edges to keep you from falling over so we were a little on edge with the four kids but it was beautiful and had so much fun! Definitely glad we had the opportunity to visit this area.

Castle Rock

Right on the edge of a 187 foot steep cliff

Love the rainbow on the left!

Look at the people walking on the path that takes you to the bottom of the falls. It is so steep and only about half way down. Not exactly kid and stroller friendly :) We passed on this hike down.

HAHA Jake wanted to do this. LOL

Proof I am having fun!

Mom quit taking pictures of us!!

Drive by pictures in the car on our way home :)

Memorial Day - Visiting the Memorial Gymnasium in Moscow Idaho

Today we visited the Memorial Gymnasium in Moscow Idaho.

Wikipedia says this about it "War Memorial Gymnasium is a 2,500-seat multi-purpose indoor arena on the campus of the University of Idaho in MoscowIdaho. Opened in November 1928,[6] the venue honors state residents who gave their lives in the service of their country in World War I.[4][7] The architectural style is Tudor-Gothic and is heavily buttressed; the chief architect was David C. Lange,[2][3] the head of the university's architecture department. The west end addition was built from 1951–52,[5] and the building was renovated in 1954.[8] Ivy partially covers the brick and concrete exterior, which is decorated with crouching football player gargoyles and stained glass windows.[9]"

It was a beautiful day and the building was gorgeous!! I wanted the kids to not think of Memorial Day Weekend as just a four day weekend from school, but to remember that this holiday has a very important meaning. We need to continually make sure we pray, recognize, serve, honor and thank anyone who has fought for our freedoms/lives and not take for granted how lucky we really are which can easily be forgotten as we live our day to day lives.

Moscow is such a pretty place to photograph this time of year! I have been really enjoying this nice weather and finally being able to explore without freezing my butt off!! :) I want to make sure I take full advantage of photographing these places before we move.

And in case anyone wants to learn the proper way to fold an American Flag, my boys took the time to research it, and practice it and here is the link

They were so proud of themselves. They were on their best behavior and made sure the flag never touched the ground or treat it disrespectfully. I am so thankful I have such sweet hearted boys.
