Question for the Nikon users...

I have recently sold some of my old photography equipment and am in the market for a "decent" telephoto lens costing no more then $400.00. I have other items I need to get too so I don't want to spend more then that. If anyone can offer any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Sorry no suggestions for the lens.

Yes, you are required to have a pssport. They just enforced it this month. It sucks because we don't have ours yet and I love shopping in the US. We are really close to the NY border. As far as vacation spots I'm not too sure. I think Kimberley and Kelowna, BC are close to your border. Maybe try Okanagan Falls Provincial Park. I'm not sure exactly where that is but I have heard it is beautiful. Hope that helps.

I haven't even taken my new nikkon lense out of the box because you know I know NOTHING about lenses and such!

I wish I could help. Can you go vote for Catherine's picture? It is number 10. http://www.5minutesforspecialneeds.com/1545/let-the-voting-begin
thanks : ) Steph! Let me know what you find out about the lense. You can teach me!

Hi, Dina sent me your link and asked me to advise on a lens for you. A couple of questions first, what kind of Nikon do you use? Also, what type of lens are you looking to purchase, wide angle, telephoto, standard? I'd be glad to help as much as I can.

I just loved your response Steph! When I wrote it I was thinking a lot of people are going to be annoyed because a lot of blogs I go to really do act like that. Although, I definitely don't go to them as often anymore. Fake rubs me the wrong way! I loved what you said about being able to stay home with your kids instead of having lots of possessions and looking perfect. What is perfect any way? Someday I think those moms are going to be sad.

Oh, and PS let me know what you learn about the lense. The one that I haven't taken out of the box yet is 55-200.

XO : )

BTW, I just received this lens today and OMG, LOVE IT! It's not a zoom but a prime, and manual focus. It's so wonderful, just thought I'd share. lol!
