Did I mention that I have a new found hobby of making fondant cakes? It started with my little sister who insisted on a Hannah Montana guitar cake so I told my mom I would give it a shot. Then my daughter got a princess cake.... and now Ryan wants a Mario and Luigi cake. I found one online I am going to attempt.
The bottom will be two round cakes stacked with fondant icing. The 2nd layer will just be a cardboard box with one of those lids designed to look like a Mario Tube thing and then I have to make a mushroom and find a figurine to put on top! I can't wait. I am going to start making this next week. I have 3 weeks to finish it. Thank goodness for freezers because surprisingly cakes do well in there!
So here is the cake I will make. It may look difficult but anyone who has made fondant cakes before will say it is like construction paper. You cut out the pieces and stick them into place. It really isn't that hard.
Unfortunately my little sisters Hannah Montana cake (which was way better then the 2nd one!) is on my other computer which is being repaired (if possible at this point sounds like it is going to cost me an arm and a leg). So I know that I am old school and run off a 6 year old dell computer but my 18 month laptop that cost me a whopping $1,799.00 is broken down.... SO NEWER ISN'T ALWAYS BETTER! And why fix it if it ain't broken! LOL!
